Menjadi Editor Freelance

Bisakah kita menjadi editor freelance? Mengapa tidak? Selain editor merupakan pekerjaan yang full time, kita juga bisa menjadi editor freelance. Pekerjaan sebagai editor menuntut kita untuk menghabiskan waktu kita di depan naskah. Selesai satu naskah, datanglah naskah-naskah selanjutnya. Seolah-olah tidak pernah berhenti pekerjaan seorang editor. Apalagi jika dikejar deadline. Di sisi lain, pekerjaan yang menumpuk di sebuah dapur pracetak, menuntut editor meluangkan waktu santainya untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaan. Apabila waktu sudah dekat dengan deadline, biasanya editor akan kerja lembur. Begitu juga, setter, partner editor juga ikut kerja lembur. Jika dengan kerja lembur, tugas-tugas masih menumpuk, naskah pun diperbolehkan untuk dibawa pulang. Apalagi kita memiliki kemampuan ganda, baik sebagai editor substansi maupun editor bahasa. Hal ini akan membuat kita lebih produktif. Produktifitas seorang editor juga didukung dengan kemampuan referensi yang cukup. Selain berhadapan dengan naskah dari penulis, seorang editor juga harus sering-sering membuka kamus bahasa, ensiklopedi dan buku-buku referensi lainnya. Buku-buku seperti inilah yang akan mengantarkan seorang editor menjadi professional. Akan lebih bisa dikatakan sebagai editor yang professional jika kita juga mampu menyelesaikan tugas sesuai dengan batas waktu yang ditentukan. Sebuah penerbit akan melihat sejauh mana kemampuan seorang editor, maupun tingkat kesalahan dalam pekerjaan serta ketepatan waktu penyelesaian pekerjaannya. So, jadilah professional dalam menjalankan tugas.

Works as Editor

I have worked as an editor. I worked for two years, precisely between the years 2007 to 2009. A year after graduation, I started working formally as editor. I became an editor at a textbook publisher. Editor in charge of preparing books to be ready for printing.

Although I studied at the faculty of education, but I have not actually interested in becoming teachers.

From the entrance exam to the editor, I was faced with a variety of questions about grammar. Inside there EYD, effective sentences, dictionary and others. Valuable experience from an editor is the opportunity to be a writer. An editor has a great opportunity to become a writer. Why? Because an author and editor have close links. A writer will not be able to produce a quality book without an editor touch. Similarly, an editor not is careless preparing a book without the input or consent from the author.
